Liz made me TWO CAKES for my Xena-themed 40th birthday party. She reproduced the chakram design and the X:WP logo in royal frosting and managed to get them on the cake without incident. If you're going to have a landmark birthday, make sure you have TWO CAKES.
I'm holding Art Boy's birthdy gift, it's entitled "I'm an Amazon Princess?" from the first season episode, "Hooves and Harlots". You may remember Xena's response, "Grrrreeeat".
A couple of friends attending the birthday party are professional photographers, so they set up a drape, we added the animated Hercules and Xena cardboard promo, and we took turns getting our pictures taken.
Here are a couple: Ang and Deb decided to be a human chair and Vicky has Lucia and me in a friendly neck lock.
Xena fanfiction writer Bat Morda brought her popular Xena Jeopardy game to the birthday party and it was a particular hit. Some people were astonishingly good at Xena trivia. I don't recall all the categories in the round, but the one's visible in the photo are: Xena, Gabrielle, Actors, Episodes, Xenaverse, Fan Fiction. In another photo (not shown here) the categories are: Heroes, Sidekicks, Villains, Joxer, Places, Potpourri, Lines We Love, Altered States.
You can see from the group shot that we were all very focused on the game.
On the card table on the left, a laptop is set up for people to log into what would become the Xena Palace, putting the birthday party online for non-local Xena fans to participate.
