Amazing Movie and TV Prop and Costume Auction will be Live on eBay

This is a large auction with hundreds of lots from the Pugliese Collection -- trust me, you've not seen a collection like this one. Not only are there hundreds of iconic items from film and TV, but a large amount of historical items such as his JFK/Jack Ruby/Oswald collection for you Kennedy assassination buffs and original Beatles items. I'm just pulling a few items from the list:

Maltese Falcon (resin) starting bid: $250,000
Apparently, there were 2 birds made from lead and a third in resin. This is the resin prop.

Holy Grail from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade -- currently at $4,000

Chalice ("He chose....poorly.") from "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" -- currently at $4,000

Indy's Whip from all three films -- started at and is currently at $25,000. Comes with a hand-written note from Harrison Ford verifying it's use and authenticity.

Michael Keaton's Batman costume -- starting bid $37,500

Wicked Witch's Hat from "The Wizard of Oz" -- starting bid $30,000

Check it out -- the auctioneer is Guernseys and it goes live on March 15th and 16th.

Happy Hunting!

Just in case anyone thinks about bidding on that Maltese Falcon - its provenance is a bit...um...dicey.

Yeah, that's the best way to put it.

A lot of the items in this auction have as you say dicey provenance...I'm surprised you posted this Chris without doing your homework on the auction not very expert of you is it?

Elizabeth: loved out conversation and story about one of the lead versions that was displayed not too long ago at WB. Your organization is so generous with information resources.

Anonymous: If your beef is with me, how boring. If your beef is with Guernseys or Anthony Pugliese, this is just not the forum.

No beef with you at all sorry to boar you...However why post a "story" about the Pugliese Collection auction if no one is allowed to post on it and let potential buyers know to be careful and do their homework. Are you backing this auction or not?

Why the anonymous posts, Mike? Every visit to this page gets their IP address and location logged.

You didn't question the Pugliese auction, just my "expertness" for posting the information on my blog. An auction, which is being covered by network television programs, about a million webpages and will bring in more millions than either of us will ever see. Why should I have to "back" this auction? Are you visiting every webpage talking about this auction and posting the same vague complaint?

You didn't start a conversation about the Pugliese collection, just did a drive by and dumped your crap. That is what I find particularly boring.

Sorry about the delete i had an edit.

Chris,

You know I never chime in on your blog as we don’t see things eye to eye....but since you brought up beef what is your beef on posting information about the auction you yourself posted about? I know you are an MPF member have you read the thread on the auction? Noted the pieces that were pulled and checked the providence for the remaining pieces? As a collector I’d think you’d be interested in informing the prop buying public on the providence of this high profile auction that again you yourself posted about.

Potential buyers please be careful on this auction, providence is the utmost importance.

A collector is responsible for their own education. Anyone willing to bid $250,000 for an opening bid on that Maltese Falcon is going to do their own homework. Not my job.

If you interfere with a high-profile auction (especially one on eBay) you will find yourself eyeball deep in legal doo-doo. Good luck with that.
