I know that some of you are already aware of these publications, but for those who don't, I wanted to mention a couple of new Xena collectibles fanzines that have been started this year and I've been already finding them to be great resources for information on all things collectibly Xena. These are labors of love by Xena fans for Xena fans and I'm hooked on both -- they're fantastic.
The first is Xena Prop House Newsletter, which is produced and written by Barbie Arms and hosted on Mary D's site. This fanzine concentrates on collecting original costumes and props from both H:TLJ and X:WP. A lot of great information has already come through this publication for collectors of these items or for just those curious about them. In each issue, Barbie concentrates on a particular prop or costume theme, such as "All things Amazon", "Armor" or "Gab Staffs".
The Newsletter is becoming a good communication nexus for collectors out there; it's fun to see what other collectors have and find out what people are looking for to complete their collection (if anyone can actually say that!). Barbie is also running a charity auction each month on ebay of a donated costume or prop item. Check them out!
Louise Heyden's Anything For A Dinar newsletter is full of graphical eye-candy and interesting descriptions of X:WP commercial merchandise. One issue has focused on action figures, another mugs and sculptures, another on X:WP stamps. But Louise also recaps how X:WP merchandise have been doing on ebay recently, covers the official websites and the Creation convention, as well as episode recaps, and other articles related to our favorite TV show. A terrific feature that Louise includes in her fanzine are graphic "checklists" for those completists out there. She clearly does an intense amount of research to put her issues together and it shows.
Both publications take submissions from fans, so check the guidelines for both. You can find the monthly (in PDF format) Xena Prop House Newsletter at ausxip.com/xenaprophouse/index.html
Anything For A Dinar is bi-monthly and can be purchased from Louise directly on ebay. Search for seller ID thebattlingbard or search for "Anything For A Dinar".
AFAD is in CD-ROM format and mailed to you directly by Louise (she's in the UK). Each issue is over 40 pages long not counting the checklists and guidelines. Her special Christmas issue is a charity fund raiser for a group that works to secure a healthy environment for birds and other wildlife in the UK.
Battle On!

Obligatory Disclaimer: I have absolutely no financial interest in either publication but to be completely honest, some of my Xena collection is featured in both fanzines.
