Lucy Lawless' as Xena in Hercules Episodes always has Wispy, Fluffy, Messed-up Hair

I've been uploading table photo images to my Etsy shop in the last couple of days. I have lots. and lots of photos of LL as Xena (didn't we all -- we just bought all those Creation prints like crazy obsessives -- no judgment, really). Lu's hair is different in the H:TLJ episodes, have you noticed? Here's my reference photo of a calmer, more managed, Breck Girl style.

Take a look at these two from H:TLJ episodes. The first one is the last of the S1 Herc Trilogy that introduced the Warrior Princess, Unchained Heart. The second one is from a S4 episode "Armageddon Now, Part II." Both could be described as "bed head."

Does the earlier H:TLJ episode Lucy Lawless appear in, not as Xena, but as Lyla, count? You bet it does:

Later in the same episode, her hair is lighter, appears to have had more braiding, and yet also seems thinner:

Maybe I'm crazy, but if Whoosh! was still publishing, it might be fun to do the DEFINITIVE STUDY! And get political about it.

Back in the day at our local XenaGab meetings, one of our favorite trivia games was to take a big stack of table head shot photos of Lawless and O'Connor in character, show them one by one, and guess which episode it was from. We were pretty good at this game, using clues of head bands, make up, Renee's hair color, and any costume bits and/or background clues. And yes, we needed to develop other interests. Or, as Shatner would say, "Get a life!"

The screen grabs from "As Darkness Falls" were made by Angelbacchae. As always, she had what I was looking for. https://www.angelbacchae.com/hercules/index.php
