I knew that a fellow Xena collector was seriously looking for a pair of Xena gauntlets, but honestly didn't think that much about it. Then Barbie Arms started talking about how this collector was looking for a pair, that they were her Holy Grail of Xena items. Now a Holy Grail I get, having spent 25 years collecting literature on the Holy Grail legend. Couple that with my recent talk about focusing a collection (mine needs some trimming) and that led to me emailing this collector and saying these were available. It didn't take long to agree on a deal, so today I got the gauntlets out to pack for shipping:
Here are the gauntlets stuffed and wrapped in tissue paper like "gauntlet burritos."
And here they are sitting on top of a piece of Judy Robertson's fantastic hand-dyed fabric:
And here they are finally in their shipping package with bubble wrap and air pillows. Don't worry! I put the fabric-wrapped gauntlets inside a large ziploc bag so they would be waterproof. The ziploc bag just isn't very photogenic, you know? But Judy Robertson's hand-dyed fabric sure is and you can find more just like it on her website.
Ready for the FedEx people............
